After Incision & Drainage

• Vigorous rinsing with warm salt water 8-10 times a day.
• Do not take pain medication on an empty stomach.
• Gauze drain may become dislodged, this is normal.
• Place an ice pack on area for 12-14 hours to reduce swelling.
• Take prescriptions as directed.
• No smoking for at least 24 hours.
• If there is a problem, please call the office.
